How Do I Exercise My Visitation Rights? My Ex Will Not Allow Me To See My Child?
Visitation is NOT part of child support. If you are behind on child support you should in good faith attempt to pay off your account and get caught up. At the same time, you still have the right to parent your child. You should not be alienated as a parent because you are behind in your support. You have the right to go by the order or agreement as ordered by the court. However, do realize, the support you are ordered to pay is to help put a roof over your child’s head, pay for food, daycare, school etc. WARNING: You are considered in contempt of court if you are NOT paying or at the very least have payment arrangements set up. Be careful, you can either be fined by the courts or placed in jail.
